Amole Gupte plays the Kamina in Kaminay

Post the super success of his Taare Zameen Par, creative director Amole Gupte will be first seen in the role of an actor and not a director. He had done his acting debut more than two decades back in miniscule roles in Holi and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander but now for the first time he is doing a full fledged role in Vishal Bharadwaj’s upcoming next, Kaminey.

Sources inform that Amole will be playing a negative role. In fact the film starring Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapur in the lead will have Amole playing the role of Kaminey and not Shahid as Kapur as it was being said earlier.

When contacted, Gupte states, “I can’t disclose much about the role but I could definitely say that my role will be as challenging as Saif Ali Khan’s s character played in Omkara. Working as an actor with Director Vishal Bhardwaj has been very challenging and interesting. In fact I got to learn so much from him.”

It is learnt that Shahid Kapur is playing a double role in the film and he is going to surprise the audiences this time. He has worked hard on his mannerisms and looks. Watching him in the double role will be a treat to the eyes, adds our source.

While Vishal earlier films Omkara and Maqbool were based on Shakespeare’s works Kaminay is entirely original. It is not a trilogy. The film is slated for a May or June release. -Sampurn Media
