First great record of GHAJINI with 200 crore

Special report:

Ghajini is breaking all records and this time its the box-office collection. Bollywood Blockbuster of 2008 is said to have crossed Rs 200-cr mark with regard to box-office collection.

When booking for the movie opened at a theatre in UK on Wednesday, the film became the first to gross Rs 200 crore at the world-wide box office. And suprisingly, this has been achieved in less than two weeks of its release. The movie has grossed around Rs 169-crore in the domestic market and Rs 39-crore from the international market (as on thursday).

Ghajini released with maximum numbers of prints in India (1200 digital and analog version). The film is said to break the domestic collection record set by Anil Sharma’s Gadar. In the international market too, the movie is second to Karan Johar’s Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna.

Further, Ghajini has also earned Rs 4 crore from gaming rights (a first for a Bollywood film), Rs 21 crore for satelitte rights for India and overseas and approximately Rs 10 crore for home video and music.

General people survey:

We all had a feeling that the film 'Ghajini' was going to be a huge hit and we weren't wrong. So how big is the A.R. Murugadoss directed film starring Aamir Khan? Well, after being out for only a little more than two weeks, the film has already set a new record in Bollywood. 'Ghajini' has made it to the 200 crore mark!! 200 crore!! This is an amazing record for the film Industry and for India. The film has gained 162 crores in domestic sales and 39 crores in overseas sales!

To celebrate such an amazing feat the cast and director had a little soiree at the J.W. Marriott in Juhu, Mumbai on Monday night. Aamir Khan, Jiah Khan, Asin, and A.R. Murugadoss were all present and posing for pictures. Everyone that was there posed around a huge cake with the number 200 on it, commemorating the amazing record the film has set. Aamir Khan laughed as he was fed cake by Pradeep Rawat and then he fed some to his co-star and onscreen romance, Asin. We wonder if it made Kiran Rao a little bit jealous. We are sure it was all in good fun and Kiran Rao probably did not mind! Check out the pictures to see all the fun that was had by the actors. We think everyone seemed really happy and excited. The film continues to break records for India and Bollywood as it makes more money in sales. So what else is in store for the film? It will probably continue to make money. We can't wait to see what the film's final record will be when all is said and done. In the meantime, let us know what you think of the pictures!
