Genelia is nervous for Shahid

Genelia D’Souza is one of the top actresses in Tollywood, however after her hit Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, new Bollywood avenues have opened up themselves for her.

Genelia now stars opposite Bollywood heartthrob Shahid Kapoor in Ken Ghosh’s Yahoo and is maha nervous on acting opposite him.

She says, “It’s my first film with Shahid Kapoor who is a phenomenal dancer; and I’m nervous as hell at the thought of having to match steps with him.”

The role which was first offered to Jiah finally landed on Genelia’s lap, she says, “I accepted the role because it is challenging for me as an actor. Also, I share a good rapport with the film corporation who is producing Yahoo.’’

Then there’s ‘Agent Vinod’, an espionage thriller directed by Sriram Raghvan and it’s the remake of an old B-Town movie that was not received well.

Kareena will star in the film alongside Saif after they are over with Rensil D’Silva’s ‘Jihad’, produced by none other than Karan Johar.

If all goes well, the duo is sure to do well as business partners. Preity-Ness Wadia ( who are falling apart already) and Shilpa- Raj Kundra may have some tough competition in the coming years.

SRK-Aamir joined together for producers-But what they are thinking..!!

It was really rare thing to see as Bollywood superstars SRK and Aamir joined together to support producers and distributors in the ongoing multiplex row.

Producers are demanding a 50-50 revenue sharing ration with multiplex owners, however multiplex owners dont want the current ratio 40 - 48% to be changed.

Spokesmen Aamir Khan said, “It is our responsibility to explain our problems and issues to our audiences. We as entertainers feel sorry for not being able to show new films for sometime and we are here to explain our side of the argument.”

“There is a need to re-look at revenue sharing model. The gross and net profits made by the films have increased over the years but the share of producers and distributors remains the same.”

SRK also voiced his opinion and explained that the awesome twosome Khans have not come for any publicity but are just asking for “fair rights for Friday nights”.

King Khan is now back on the film world

After shoulder surgery just a little over a month ago, and a few weeks of rest Shah Rukh Khan is coming back to work with a vengeance. Not only has he walked the ramp for Manish Malhotra at the Lakme Fashion Week, he has also been setting up deals for his Knight Riders IPL (Indian Premier League) cricket team, plus he has gone back to shooting for Karan Johar’s My Name is Khan.

Though he is not completely recovered from the operation and against advice from his doctors King Khan started filming with Kajol on the set of My Name is Khan in late March. However, he is taking it easy to begin with. “It's supposedly simple work. I haven't recovered fully yet. It will take another four months but this shoot is unavoidable so I have to do it," he explained. The actor is still in pain and on painkillers so action scenes are out for now, “As far as action scenes are concerned, I don't know... maybe six to seven months later. I still can't move my arm."

Shoojit Sircar's Jaffna shooting in Sri-lanka

Mumbai, April 2 (IANS) Shoojit Sircar, who went to Kashmir to film his love story "Yahaan", is geared up to can his next movie "Jaffna" in war-hit Sri Lanka and claims it is the first Hindi film to be made on the problems of the conflict-torn island nation.

"I think Mani Ratnam's Tamil film 'Kannathil Muthamittal' (featuring Madhavan and Simran) was also about the LTTE (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam). But my 'Jaffna' would be the first Hindi film to go into the critical situation in the area," Sircar told IANS.

"Jaffna" is about a soldier at war with his own men and the director wants to shoot it like a thriller.

"'Jaffna' would be an espionage thriller in the genre of 'The Bourne Identity'. We've already acquired all the relevant permission to shoot in Sri Lanka," said Sircar, who has almost completed "Johnny Mastana" with Amitabh Bachchan.

The cast for "Jaffna", which is to be filmed in August, is yet to be finalised. Sircar will produce the film in collaboration with UTV.

Bollywood star in indecent case

The case against Kumar was filed by Anil P Nayar, a social worker.

Mr Nayar says the unbuttoning of the jeans during show time was really "vulgar and indecent".

"After the preliminary inquiry, we will register a case against Akshay Kumar, [his wife] Twinkle Khanna, the abettor of the Lakme Fashion Week show and the top management of the Grand Hyatt [the hotel where the show was held] and we will take action against them," news agency Reuters quoted SG Pandey, a lawyer of the complainant, as saying.

Police say they have received the complaint, but are yet to register a case.

"They gave an application, it is under inquiry and after inquiry, we will let you know," the agency quoted senior police officer Nissar Kalambole as saying.

Dressed in a T-shirt and denim jeans, Kumar walked up to wife Twinkle, seated in the front-row, and asked her to undo the top button of his jeans.

Kumar has made a name for himself by playing lead roles in action and comedy films.

His film, Singh is Kinng, was one of the biggest hits of 2008.

In 2007, he appeared in several hits, like Namastey London, Heyy Babyy, Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Welcome.

Recently, he was awarded Padma Shri, India's civilian award for eminent people.

Aamir Khan has gone in a long vacation

After gaining a great reputation and the after completion of most challenging duties of last year the great bollywood star Aammir Khan is now willing to take a long vacation.

A source close to the actor revealed, “It is true that Aamir is finally taking a year off after Raj Kumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots is complete. He is currently in Bangalore shooting for the film. Actually, he was planning to take a sabbatical last year after Taare Zameen Par, where the double responsibility of directing and acting sapped him. But then he was coaxed into doing Ghajini and then began his physical re-orientation, the muscle-building and body toning that really exhausted the method actor. But Aamir is now ready to take the long pending break. He won’t be doing any films for the next one year.”

But although he is taking break from work his production house, Aamir Khan Productions will continue working. Currently the production house is producing Abhinay Deo’s Delhi Belly and Kiran Rao’s Dhobi Ghat. On a year long leave Aamir will spend his time by traveling, reading scripts, watching films and with his children.

A R Rahman now hopes to win at least one Oscar

London, Feb 6 (PTI) Indian music maestro A R Rahman, who has bagged three Academy Award nominations in two categories for his compositions in 'Slumdog Millionaire', believes he will win at least one Oscar with "God's blessings".
"I hope, we get at least one (Oscar). I cannot wait for the announcement," Rahman was today quoted in The Daily Telegraph as saying.

Only two Indians have ever won an Oscar -- costume designer Bhanu Athaiya for Gandhi (1982) and renowned filmmaker Satyajit Ray who received a lifetime achievement award in 1992.

However, with three Academy Award nominations this year for Slumdog Millionaire - one for overall score and for two songs - the Chennai-based composer looks likely to be the third, the report said.

He is also up for the Best Music award at Sunday night's Baftas.

"We've been waiting for this for 80 years," said Rahman.

"I believe that whatever comes at a particular time is a blessing from God," he said.

While Rahman first came to the attention of Western audiences with his film music for Elizabeth: The Golden Age (2007) and stage shows Bombay Dreams and The Lord of the Rings, his already stellar profile will go into overdrive should be win the Oscar on Feb 22. PTI

Salman Khan is going to be Forgotten Khan

There once was a time when Salman Khan was the top actor in Bollywood. His dance moves, handsome good looks and acting skills sent girls all over the world into a frenzy. Plus, he has proved to be a stupendous producer, first with ‘Taare Zameen Par’ and then ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na.’ Shahrukh’s lone release of the year, ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi,’ did very well at the box office and had people falling for the sweet simple character. His home production, ‘Billu Barber’ is also expected to at least make a decent amount of moolah. Aamir and Shahrukh’s status as top level actors and moneymakers are definitely a stark contrast to Salman’s.
