Darling (2007)

Darling is on of the upcoming films of director Ram Gopal Verma, starring Fardeen Khan, Esha Deol and Isha Koppikar for the lead roles. There was so much buzz around RGV' Sholay remake (now knows as RGV Ki Aag) that we didn't even notice he was making Darling. Looking forward to see what he's done in this film.

The music composer of Darling, unfortunately, is Himesh Reshammiya. I don't know anything else about the film, but I definitely believe RGV's choice of music director is kinda rotten. Sorry Himesh fans. Some believe Himesh has a very wide fan-base. If so, the only value he's bringing to the table is in the sales (which is very important for some), but nothing artistic. However that has been compensated for by a very nice Adnan Sami song that I think you shouldn't miss.

Shiva (2006)

Ram Gopal Verma is back this year with a remake of his debut movie Shiva. He has casted the same actors, Mohit Ahlawat and Nisha Kothari, as his previous movie James.

Shiva is a movie about a "young officer who has just joined the Mumbai Police" and who takes on the "odds when his principles and convictions are under threat. With a completely updated script and today's technical advances, I seek to capture that element of anger present in all of us. Most of us accept injustice mutely. But every once in a while, a rebel comes along who hits back". Those are RGV's own words about the movie.

Shiva's music is directed by Ilayaraja. It quite a typical RGV film where it isn't much focussed on the music. Songs aren't very memorable, but aren't as bad either. At least not the first time you listen to them.

Nishabd (2007)

It's time to catch up with the new releases! The first of the lot is Nishabd, a film by Ram Gopal Verma starring Amitabh Bachchan and Jia Khan in her debut role. As the tagline of the movie says, Nishabd is about the love story of a 60-year-old married man (Amitabh) and a 18-year-old girl (Jia). Despite its bad boxoffice results, the actors' performances have been praised by most. I have yet to watch the film myself, however, after reading Velu's great review I can't wait to watch it.

I have listened to the music though. There are only two new songs in this album; Rozana and Take Lite, sung by the lead actors themselves. They are both lovely songs, I love them. The other 10 songs are from previous movies/albums; e.g. Chali Chali Phir Chali, Main Yahan Tu Wahan and Meri Makhna are from Baghban (2003), Chod Na Re is from Kaante (2002), Come On Come On is from Baabul (2006), etc. Enjoy!

Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag (2007)-downloads

I've been tracking Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag for quite a while in order to be among the first to post its music, I hope I've achieved that. So here is of Aag, RGV's much hyped remake of the a classic masterpiece, Sholay. (For those of you who have seen The Magnificent Seven (1960), you might know that Sholay (1975) was a very well done adaptation of The Magnificent Seven and not an original story by Salim Javed. I know some people will really hate me for pointing that out. Check it out for yourselves.) The cast of Aag include Amitabh Bachchan, Mohanlal, Ajay Devgan, Prashant Raj, Nisha Kothari, Sushmita Sen, Rajpal Yadav, Boman Irani and features Urmila Matondkar in the song Mehbooba as the sexy dancer.

Sarkar Raj (2008)

Sarkar Raj is the second installment of Ram Gopal Verma's Sarkar trilogy. It stars Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Amitabh Bachchan and Tanisha Mukherjee in major roles. I've been looking forward to this film, and I hope to see it soon. I want to see what RGV has done this time around after the disastrous remake of Sholay.
